Dr. Richard Wells, Regional Supervising Coroner, Central Region, Toronto West Office, has announced that an inquest will be held into the death of Michaels Spencer.

Mr. Spencer, 57 years old, died in hospital on April 5, 2021, following an incident involving officers from the Toronto Police Service. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.

The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Spencer’s death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
