Explanatory Note

This Bill permits a person certified as a bow-hunter to use a vehicle within a wilderness area in order to retrieve wildlife killed with a bow.

An Act to Amend Chapter 27
of the Acts of 1998,
the Wilderness Areas Protection Act

Be it enacted by the Governor and Assembly as follows:

1 Chapter 27 of the Acts of 1998, the Wilderness Areas Protection Act, is amended by adding immediately after Section 23 the following Section:

    23A (1) In this Section, "bow" has the same meaning as in the Wildlife Act.

    (2) A person who has been certified by the Minister of Natural Resources and Renewables as being qualified to hunt with a bow may use a vehicle within a wilderness area for the purpose of retrieving wildlife killed with a bow.
