AN ACT TO AMEND THE VEHICLES AND ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, CHAPTER 46:50.

BE IT ENACTED by the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Dominica as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the -

VEHICLES AND ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2023.

(2) This Act is deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of August, 2022.

2. In this Act the Vehicles and Road Traffic Act is referred to as “the Act”.

3. The Act is amended by inserting a new section 21A immediately after section 21 –

21A. Notwithstanding section 21(1), from the 1st day of August, 2022, to the 31st day of July, 2023, the licence fees set out in the First Schedule shall be reduced by fifty percent in respect of licences issued for the following vehicles:

(a) public service vehicles;

(b) trucks and dumpers available for hire.”.

4. Section 111A of the Act is repealed.
