Petition to the House of Commons in Parliament assembled
  Whereas:
  
    Many Canadians consult websites such as Wikipedia, which use photos released under Creative Commons licenses, as a means of educating themselves on topics;
    The Official Portraits of Members of Parliament are not currently released under a free use license; and
    Other parliamentary bodies, such as the Parliament of the United Kingdom, have released Official Portraits of Members of Parliament under free use licenses such as the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.
  
  
    We, the undersigned, residents of Canada, call upon the House of Commons to release all Official Portraits of Members of Parliament under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported license.
