For information only: Made by the Minister of Education (M.O. 12/2024) on August 30, 2024 pursuant to sections 100, 101, 103, 104, 106 and 107 of the Education Act. 1 The Establishment of Separate School Districts Regulation (AR 88/2019) is amended by this Regulation. 2 Section 2(6) is repealed and the following is substituted: (6) Following the meeting, the initiating separate school electors, the operating separate school board and the public school board must notify the Minister (a) of the separate school establishment area determined at the meeting, or (b) that those electors and boards were not able to agree on the separate school establishment area. (7) Notice under subsection (6) must be given (a) within 90 days of the meeting, or (b) no later than December 7 of the year prior to the year that the proposed separate school district is to be established, whichever comes first. 3 The following is added after section 2: Transitional 2.1 Where a meeting for the purpose of determining the separate school establishment area was held before the coming into force of section 2(7), notice required by section 2(6) must be given to the Minister no later than December 7 of the year prior to the year that the proposed separate school district is to be established. 4 Section 28 is amended by striking out "August 31, 2024" and substituting "August 31, 2028".
